Role: Controls Engineer

Duration: 12 Months

Onsite role at Liberty, NC.

Travel: Up to 25%. International travel will be as per need but not a plan as of now. Apart from PLC and Networking, this role is more data-oriented , requiring PLC , Networking, and Database experience.

OT: Ability for business travel, both domestic and international, as needed up to 25%.

Ability to work weekend and non-production weeks (such as July and December holidays) as needed, up to 25%.

Interview:

• Must be available for a 30-minute first-round interview.
• Must be available for a 2nd round In-person interview (45 – 1 hour).

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and managing data collection processes for battery production lines within the Powertrain department. You will work closely with other engineers, managers, and support groups to drive innovation and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Your Responsibilities:

• Developing process specifications for data collection for machines of battery production lines within the Powertrain department, with direct support from other engineers, managers, and support groups.
• Directly supporting other engineers related to controls of machinery.
• Developing and managing the overall collection of PLC, Touch Screen, and NC Program data for all battery machinery.
• Innovating creative solutions to breakthrough traditional barriers of manufacturing data collection/specifications, with leadership from a Senior Engineer in controls.
• Demonstrating the ability to quickly learn new processes as required.
• Organizing and guiding cross-functional activities across traditional company barriers with minimal assistance from management.

Requirements what you need to have:

• Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, C#, and Python is a plus .
• Project Management and Documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Teams.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or a similar technical f ield, or 10+ years of equivalent professional experience in PLC programming or networking.
• PLC experience including the ability to develop from scratch +500-line programs (Not mandatory).
• SQL / Oracle database experience ( Postgres).
• Experience developing code and troubleshooting communication protocols (ENET, ENET IP, RFID, RS232/485 and CC link).
• Experience with computer software such as Ignition programming for visual communications and data transferring to servers.
• Mitsubishi controls programming experience is highly desirable.
• Siemens controls programming experience is highly desirable.
