Job Description and Duties

Sacramento Communications Center is a public safety answering point. Public Safety Operators (PSO) answer 9-1-1, public, allied agency, as well as making outgoing calls to service providers, allied agencies and citizens. PSOs must document information in a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System accurately, quickly and take the appropriate action on each call.

Working Conditions

Sacramento Communications Center is on a 10-hour and 12-hour hybrid alternate work week schedule with seniority signups.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • The position(s) require(s) a(n) Typing Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

The Sacramento Communications Center receives an additional $300 recruitment and retention pay differential monthly.
